Leadership buy-in. When the CEO or practice owner visibly prioritizes security — following the same rules, participating in training, talking about it in meetings — it signals that security is not just an IT thing.

Safe reporting. The fastest way to kill a security culture is to punish people for reporting mistakes. If someone clicks a phishing link and reports it immediately, that is a win. The report is what matters, not the click.

Make it personal. Connect cybersecurity to personal life. The same skills that protect the business also protect their personal banking, their family’s data, and their own identity. When security is personally relevant, people pay attention.
